One of my recent projects was creating a sweet flag bunting for my sister’s baby shower. She and her husband are expecting a girl in December and this past weekend we celebrated the soon to be family of three.
I had previously ordered a layer cake of Moda’s Darling Little Dickens by Lydia Nelson thinking I would make a quilt from the prints, but changed my mind. So I had an abundance of these beautiful farm themed pastels. Pale pinks, greens, blues… perfect shower material. Not to mention they feature honey bees and lambs, tying in our family’s apiary and my sister’s married name, Lambe.
Armed with these perfect prints and the embroidery machine supplied by my boyfriend’s mother (mentioned in previous posts) I set out to learn applique! And a few short steps later… viola! Baby Lambe’s party bunting was complete!
I will be doing a few more of these and listing them in my Etsy shop pretty soon. They’re great for baby or wedding showers, birthday parties or Bachelorette parties. And I’ll probably end up making a few for the holidays as well. Message or leave a comment if you’d like a custom order for your event!
